CONNECTICUT
Tarrywile Park Authority

After receiving a Polaris Ranger from USSTC in November 2007, the Tarrywile Park Authority immediately put it to use in maintaining the 722-acre land preserve that is owned by the city of Danbury, CT. Standing with the vehicle are several members of the Authority staff: (l. to r.) Sam Crews, grounds and building caretaker; Becky Petro, executive secretary and event coordinator; Sandy Moy, executive director; and Rich Gunn, grounds and building foreman. The park features 21 miles of hiking trails, two picnic areas, and a Children’s Garden, and hosts an array of events throughout the year, from cross-country skiing clinics to environmental education programs.
